Despite droughts and burn bans, there are still a bevy of spectacular firework displays celebrating American independence in the Austin area. Whether you’re in the ‘burbs or hanging out on a downtown balcony, this year fireworks will abound all around.
Wimberley July Jubilee
Get a double dose of patriotic pyrotechnics by attending the Wimberley July Jubilee on the 3rd. Things kick off at 4pm at Veteran’s Park and continue until nightfall when a fireworks show will light up the sky.
The Premier Event – Austin Symphony HEB July 4th Concert & Fireworks
If you can only get to one show this on the 4th this one should be it. Hands down it’s the biggest fireworks display with the best ground-level view to boot. Get down to Auditorium Shores before 8:30pm to hear the Austin Symphony preform the “1812 Overture” before the barrage of fireworks drown out the music around 9:30pm.
July 4th Frontiers Day Celebration
This all-day event in neighboring Round Rock’s Old Settlers Park has activities for the whole family. The celebration commences with the Austin Symphonic Orchestra providing patriotic tunes during an impressive fireworks show.
Fourth of July Celebration at Horseshoe Bay Resort
Horseshoe Bay has an important edge over the other Austin areas – a level lake. If you plan to get out on the water this July 4th head over to Lake LBJ for the Marriott Horseshoe Bay Resort fireworks show.
Pflugerville Pfirecracker Pfestival
Always clever with their use of the silent P, if anything Pflugerville gets the award for most creative Fourth of July celebration name. Once again the city is putting on a festival and fireworks show down at Lake Pflugerville. The event starts at 4pm and ends with a pfantastic pfireworks display.
Cedar Park Fourth of July Celebration
Cedar Park is going all out this July 4th with their annual event at Elizabeth Milburn Park. The celebration gets going at 4pm with live music, a washer tournament, tons of rides for the kiddies and a fireworks display at the end of the night. If you want to start celebrating sooner swing by the Milburn pool for a swim as early as 1pm.
Sertoma Fourth of July Celebration in Georgetown
For decades the Georgetown Sertoma Club has been tasked with putting on the “Spectacular Fireworks Finale’ which is the crowning glory of the all day fest. It’s got a lot of competition with more than 60 vendors, a bounce house, petting zoo and local musicians all congregating at San Gabriel Park to celebrate the holiday.
City of Kyle July 4th Fireworks Show
Just south of Austin, a Fourth of July golf tournament, pre-show and fireworks display will keep people entertained at the Plum Creek Gold Course in Kyle, TX. Event coordinators say if you can grab a spot where you can see the water tower you should have no problem viewing the 15-20 minute fireworks show that’s set to begin around 9:30pm.
