The Kerrville Folk Festival ushers the Austin area into summertime each year with a smorgasbord of musical entertainment from artist across the country. But this festival offers so much more than a stage for musicians. The 18-day fest gives Austinites ample time to get on down to the Kerrville area for workshops, great bar-be-cue and of course Americana music.

The Kerrville Folk Festival has grown significantly since its inception way back in 1972. Don’t let the name fool you – folk music is in abundance but so are other musical stylings including jazz, blues, bluegrass, country, acoustic rock and Americana. Just as the Austin Film Festival is a celebration of screenwriters, the Kerrville Folk Festival puts songwriters in the spotlight.
You can totally immerse yourself in the full 18 days, a weekend, or grab a few friends, hire an Austin car service and enjoy great music, food and more for a day. If you plan to be there for an extended period of time Quiet Valley Ranch offers places to stay right at the event.
The Quiet Valley Ranch features 20 acres of campground where you can pitch a tent or roll up in your RV. If you’re tent camping no reservations are required, however there are only 81 RV sites, which need to be reserved well in advance. Tent camping is free, but if you want to bring a vehicle or camper on grounds to sleep in there will be additional charges.
What to Bring With You to the Kerrville Folk Festival

If you forget something at home you can always mosey on over to the Kerr-try Store, conveniently located at the Quiet Valley campgrounds. Regardless of how well-stocked you are when you get there, you’re sure to have a folk-filled good time at one of Texas’ largest and most entertaining festivals.
